Mike Perry: Ready to Step Up Against Logan Paul
Mike Perry has declared that post this weekend, Logan Paul will have no alternative but to face him in the ring.
Logan Paul is scheduled to battle Dillon Danis in a six-round boxing match this Saturday as part of the co-main event at Misfits PRIME CARD. However, given Danis’ past record of being an unpredictable opponent, Perry has been designated as Paul’s alternate. In a recent conversation with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Perry confirmed he’s primed to step in, even if it’s at the eleventh hour.
Perry emphasized his commitment, stating, “I’m going to receive payment just for weighing in and being on standby.” He approached the entire situation with the mindset of a contender, affirming, “I’ve prepared as though I’m the one stepping into the ring. I’ve conditioned myself to be mentally ready for the fight.”
Perry further highlighted the possibility of stepping in even if Danis marks his presence and then withdraws. He appreciates Logan for ensuring this provision in their contract, mentioning, “It’s officially documented.”
Interestingly, this isn’t Perry’s maiden stint as a backup for a Paul event. He was previously on standby for the much-anticipated Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury match, though he wasn’t called to action. While Perry acknowledges the compensation for his readiness, he feels that being used as a backup twice by the Paul brothers warrants more than just monetary remuneration.
