“Judgement Day”: KSI vs. Tommy Fury Headlines X Series 10 Prime Card
The much-anticipated X Series 10 – The Prime Card, backed by MF & DAZN, is ready to spotlight a thrilling cruiserweight professional crossover boxing match.
Dubbed “Judgement Day”, the event will feature English YouTuber KSI taking on the challenge of English professional boxer Tommy Fury, with the MFB cruiserweight title on the line. Manchester Arena in Manchester, England is the chosen venue for this showdown on 14 October 2023.
Adding to the excitement, American YouTuber Logan Paul and mixed martial artist Dillon Danis are also on the card, ensuring a double main event for fans.
KSI’s journey in professional boxing began with a notable victory against Logan Paul in November 2019 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Tommy Fury, impressed by KSI’s prowess, extended a challenge post the match, but it was respectfully declined by KSI.
Come February 2023, Jake Paul, another YouTuber and a well-known rival of KSI, met his match against Fury in Saudi Arabia, succumbing to a split decision loss. An expected rematch between the two was sidetracked when Paul announced a bout with mixed martial artist Nate Diaz for 5 August. This change of events spurred Fury’s interest in potential matches against KSI or TikToker Salt Papi. KSI, not one to back down, faced businessman-turned-boxer Joe Fournier in May during the MF & DAZN: X Series 007. Though KSI initially emerged victorious, the win was nullified due to an unauthorized elbow strike. This match set the stage for a verbal agreement between KSI and Fury for a future bout.
Updates on 22 July during the X Series 008 broadcast revealed the 14 October date for X Series 009. By the end of the month, it was announced that KSI and Logan Paul would be the star attractions for the X Series 10 – The Prime Card. The suspense culminated on 30 July with the official declaration of KSI’s bout against Fury. A week later, on 8 August, Logan Paul’s opponent was confirmed as Dillon Danis.
