KSI vs Jake Paul Could Finally Be Closer Than Ever, With 2027 Emerging as a Possible Window
After years of callouts, failed negotiations and constant back-and-forth, KSI vs Jake Paul may be moving closer to reality again, with mid-to-late 2027 emerging as a possible window for the long-awaited crossover boxing fight.
Both fighters are currently dealing with their own comeback timelines. Jake Paul is returning from a broken jaw suffered against Anthony Joshua in December 2025, an injury that required two surgeries. MVP CEO Nakisa Bidarian has said Paul is targeting a boxing return around late 2026 or early 2027.
KSI, meanwhile, is expected to undergo hand surgery toward the end of the year before working his way back into full training. That makes 2027 a more realistic period for both men to be healthy and ready for the matchup that has defined crossover boxing discussion for years.
The relationship between their respective teams also appears far healthier than it once was. Misfits president Mams Taylor and MVP CEO Nakisa Bidarian have increasingly found ways to work together, despite the long history of rivalry between KSI and Paul.
A recent example is Javon “Wanna” Walton, an undefeated MVP fighter who is being loaned to Misfits to face former UFC champion Henry Cejudo. The matchup came together after Deen The Great withdrew, with Taylor and Bidarian working together on Walton as the replacement.
That cooperation follows other crossover movement between the two camps and shows that the promotional divide is no longer the obstacle it once appeared to be.
For both KSI and Paul, the fight would also arrive at an important moment in their respective careers. Paul is expected to become more selective with his boxing return following the Joshua defeat, while KSI has been away from the ring for an extended period.
